Stars are leveraging the power of social media to spread the word about one-year-old Ayelet who has a rare bone marrow failure disorder and will not survive if she doesn’t have a transplant soon. On Wednesday, Leighton Meester rallied her fans, "We need to find a donor for Ayelet. She will not survive if she doesn't find a bone marrow donor. I urge everyone to get swabbed, so Ayelet can find her perfect match."
Rihanna and Pharrell took to their Twitter accounts urging their fans to get swabbed, "Can you help me find a lifesaver for baby Ayelet and other patients? #Getswabbed because maybe YOU can save a life! http://bit.ly/dkmskit."

Ayelet is not alone. Lasers light up the stage for Rihanna, Chris Brown, David Guetta and Lil Wayne at the Grammy's
Special effects and lighting are an important aspect for any major musical production and there was no exception at this year’s 2012 Grammy Awards. While a variety of different lighting mediums were used, spectators from around the world are all still talking about the amazing performances by given by Rihanna and also by Chris Brown (featuring David Guetta and Lil Wayne) which incorporated an amazing array of laser light into the special effects mix.
When Rihanna took the stage, to sing her hit single “We Found Love”, the reaction from the audience was overwhelming. A dazzling array of beautiful white laser light was projected above the crowd, and added a powerful yet complimentary touch to Rihanna’s sumptuous dance moves and elegant voice. Behind the lasers was veteran special effects company Pyrotek and their sister company Laser Design Production. The team at Laser Design Production used three 30W OPS laser systems positioned mid stage. In addition they used four more 25W systems placing two of them on top of the video wall and the other two positioned on stage left and right. To control the laser projectors, they used Pangolin’s awards winning LD2000 systems, inside of the QM2000.NET Laptop Box. To add a little more excitement to the mix, the team decided to use the LivePRO software from Pangolin to trigger laser cues “live” for the performance.
When Chris Brown took the stage for his performance alongside David Guetta and Lil Wayne, the crowds went wild. In this tribute to the new style of electronic dance music that has been sweeping the world, the artists used a fascinating array of green laser beam effects to capture the excitement and rhythm that the electronic style of music has brought to the music scene. The lasers for this performance were programmed and operated by Marty Canavan at YLS Entertainment. Marty is no newcomer to doing lasers at high profile events like the Grammy’s. His unique style of programming produced multiple beam patterns and chases which perfectly complimented the upbeat and fast pace style of the music. Marty did all of the programming using Pangolin’s LD2000 System.

Rihanna bringing Last Girl On Earth tour to Brisbane

Rihanna has been wanting to do a duet with Beyonce for a while. Rihanna and Beyonce reportedly discussed working together at the backstage of this year’s Grammy Awards and have managed to set aside time in their busy schedules to record together. The duet song will be featured in Beyonce’s new album, along with her most recent single, ‘Run the World’, that will be coming out in June.

According to Billboard, Rihanna broke several records in the process. Rihanna, 23 is now the youngest artist to have ten No. 1 songs as well as the ninth artist to achieve this accomplishment. Furthermore, Rihanna’s milestone also marks the shortest span between a solo artist's first and 10th No. 1s for a length of four years, 11 months and two weeks.

Rihanna has expressed an interest in working with the X-Factor star next year and Cheryl has apparently responded enthusiastically to the suggestion, ‘When I found out she wanted to collaborate, I got goose bumps all over’ she is quoted as saying,
‘We're definitely doing something together next year. I'm totally up for it.’
Cheryl Cole has had a tough year during 2010. She has faced a painful divorce and stared death in the face after contracting malaria while on holiday with friend Derek Hough. It was Derek who insisted she have her blood tested when the sickly star collapsed earlier in the year, in a move that probably saved her life.
During her interview with Piers Cheryl said of Derek ‘He’s an amazing, amazing person’ adding ‘I owe him my life.’
