Award winning gospel artist Deanna Ransom is featured on the 2011 Soul Train Awards compilation mixtape CD along with several multi-award winning artists including Rihanna, Tyrese, Mary J. Blige, Drake, Lil Wayne, Monica, Keri Hilson and Ludacris. Ransom is also featured on the CD cover with Cee Lo Green, Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild and Samantha Cardwell.
Ransom’s velvety vocals are showcased on track 6, You Bring Me Joy. The Delaware-based singer, songwriter is one of four gospel artists selected to appear on the compilation CD. Gospel vocalist Samantha Cardwell and Holy Hip Hop artists Double and Lil Prophet are also included.
The 18-track promotional CD, Party Train: The Mixtape Of The Soul Train Awards, is distributed to the first 5000 attendees of the Soul Train Awards audience.
Hosted by Cedric “the Entertainer,” the 2011 Soul Train Awards performers include the Original 7ven, The Group Formerly Known As The Time, Natalie Cole, Jill Scott, Robin Thicke, Melanie Fiona, Keith Sweat, Bebe Winans, Joe, Lalah Hathaway and Kenny Lattimore.
Presenters include basketball hall of famer and entrepreneur extraordinaire Earvin "Magic" Johnson, singer Valerie Simpson and actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Melissa De Sousa, Lance Gross, Demetria McKinney, Nelsan Ellis, Amber Rose, DJ Just Blaze, Kel Mitchell and Shaunie O'Neal are also presenters.
Taped November 17 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA, the 2011 Soul Train Awards is scheduled to air Sunday, November 27 at 9 p.m. (EST) on BET and CENTRIC.
