Thomas Sabo Ambassador Katy Perry Pays Tribute to Queen Front Man Freddie Mercury

Thomas Sabo ambassador Katy Perry, along with a whole host of other music superstars, has paid tribute to the late Queen front man Freddie Mercury, on what would have been his 65th birthday. Mercury died in 1991.

At a glittering event held at prestigious London hotel The Savoy, Katy joined musicians including The Foo Fighters and My Chemical Romance in recording messages for the late star.

Thomas Sabo fan Katy said in her message to Freddie: “You’ve inspired us all and you have inspired me especially, without you I wouldn’t be making music or doing what I do. I heard ‘Killer Queen’ and I knew I wanted to be a Killer Queen.”

Katy then went on to sing an acoustic version of ‘Happy Birthday’ to Freddie, witnessed by a star-studded audience including former Queen band mates Brian May and Roger Taylor along with British Royalty, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Katy Perry is known not only for her quirky fashion sense and number one hits, but also for her association with Thomas Sabo jewellery, for which she is the company’s first ever brand ambassador.

Thomas Sabo jewellery was founded in 1984, after German-born Thomas Sabo established its headquarters in the historical town of Leaf an der Pegnitz in Bavaria. Thomas Sabo wanted his company to stand for high-quality silver jewellery and it has since set the jewellery world alight with its unique designs, bold colours and on-trend style.

Thomas Sabo has come a long way since the 1980s, gaining many a celebrity fan alongside Katy Perry, including music stars Beth Ditto and Sting’s daughter Coco Summer.
